Come along on a journey back in time! Behind bars you can experience over 300 years of history and tales in the old Amberg Prison. The building is a historical theme hotel for uptown tastes with 11 single and double cells, as well as cell suites. Should you have any special wishes, or incentives, such as a tour by the light of the torches, or ‘with the executioner through Amberg’ etc. we have the service to accommodate them. For trips through the green surrounds, we can organize bicycles, e-bikes or even segways. House pets (no larger than poodles) are warmly welcome in the hotel. Should you be arriving by car, free parking spaces are available directly in the inner prison courtyard or in the underground car park (5€/day). Internet access in the hotel is free – only one of the multiple advantages. Each cell has water and bread provisions, and is also equipped with a TV, hairdryer and a cell key for your release each day. Each morning you’ll be given a substantial breakfast at the buffet. So a good start to the day is guaranteed! Payment of your ‘release papers’ can be safely done via EC, Visa, Master or EuroCard!
